Women with a new diagnosis of breast cancer, those with recurrent disease, and those who require neoadjuvant chemotherapy should be presented to a multidisciplinary team of physicians who will work together to develop an individualized treatment plan for each patient. Dr. Brackett heads this team of specialists at Georgetown Memorial Hospital System where surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, Breast Health Navigators, a clinical trial director and physicists work together.  This team currently meets twice a month to review newly diagnosed cases and to follow-up on surgical pathology after surgical treatment has been performed. This team approach is the standard of care in breast cancer health today and is vital to the treatment plan and outcomes.
