Breast Ultrasound
Breast Ultrasound is a non-ionizing radiographical technique that uses high frequency sound waves to further evaluate a mass found through a physical exam or a lesion seen on mammogram. This form of imaging helps determine if a lesion is solid or cystic. It is being used more often today in the evaluation of dense breasts where mammographic evaluation is limited. Ultrasound guided core needle biopsy is a minimally invasive, rapid, diagnostic technique used to biopsy breast abnormalities.

This is a non-invasive technique that we do in our office as part of our initial evaluation of all masses that can be felt, or for masses that are seen through a mammogram.
